About the Studio

Fifty years of one discipline, practised on a small number of properties.

Thornbury & Vale is a landscape architecture and estate care studio working across the Northeast. We take on a limited roster each year so that every property receives the attention of a principal, not a rotation of crews.

Our work is deliberately quiet. Structure first, planting second, ornament rarely. We design for the tenth year as much as the first, and we stay on afterwards to maintain what we have built.
